The Expression of Power

Take one of the world's most powerful and refined engines – the aluminium Jaguar 4.2 litre V8 – and pump up the output by 33% with a technically advanced, intercooled Eaton supercharger. That's the 298 kW heart of every R Performance model.

Supercharging dramatically increases the rate at which the fuel-air mix can be delivered to the cylinders, boosting the power output to a phenomenal 298 kW. Because the supercharger is permanently geared to the engine, it builds power smoothly throughout the rev range. In fact, more than 80% of maximum torque is produced from only 2000rpm, giving a smooth surge of power for confident overtaking from any speed.

The massive power and torque of the R models is driven through an advanced ZF six-speed automatic transmission, delivering a refined ride and responsive, dynamic performance.
